Outside Playtime

Playtime at "J's" House

The little ones and I went to my girlfriends house so that Lexi & "J" could play while the Mom's hung out.

Nicholas and Alexis had a great time playing, so much so that Alexis did not want to come home when it was time to leave. She crawled on "J's" elmo couch and told me that she was going night-night there (ha ha ha).

Winter Formal Wonders

Saturday night was the Winter Formal dance at my daughter and neices school. The girls have been looking forward to this since last year when the went to Winter Formal. And once again, they were beautiful! Check out the slide show below, we got some pretty good pictures before they left for the dance!

Flash Back Friday

This is a picture that was taken about 5 years ago when we went to Virgina to visit Yaya. Brittany looks so young here!

It is hard to look at this picture of my Yaya and then to see her now. You would never believe that a person could chane so much in 5 years! But they do.

Potty Training

OK, I am not really one to take picures on the potty but I could not resist. Alexis was just so cute about going to the potty this morning!

Friday Morning Visit

We have been very careful about company this week but I finally decided to allow someone to come over (I still made them go thru the handwashing and antibaterial gel ordeal). Tanya stopped by to see the babies since she has not seen them since Thanksgiving.

She and Nicholas played and loved on each other! I got some great pictures of them two of them.

New Room Crafts With Brittany

We have been working on closing in our garage for my oldest a new bedroom and we are in the final stages. We just have one last coat of paint on the walls, touch up paint on the ceiling, trim around the window and carpet to be installed.

It won't be long now. I am hoping to have the carpet installed by next Friday and Brittany completely in the new room by the following Monday. That way I can start painting her old room for the little ones and have them completely moved in by the following weekend.

I look forward to reclaiming some space in my house and giving Alexis and Nicholas a better play room.

Anyway, Brittany went with a bold color for her walls so we are having to make a duvet cover for her bed (king size comforters do not have a lot for teenagers) and we also decided to do some art for the walls. So these are a couple of our craft projects that we have worked on this week.

I will post pictures of the duvet cover as we are makig it later. As well as a complete set of instructions.

Love Life at Home

We have been cooped up at home since Sunday only leaving when it is absolutely necessary. With Nicholas being sick so much I decided it was time to break the cycle. No on in or out of the house that does not have to be. And if someone goes out, when they come back in I am making them change their shirt, washing their hands and lower arms and then use hand sanitizer before they do anything else.

All toys are being bleached/Lysoled each night and bed are being striped each day and sheets washed in hot bleach water.

I keep rubbing hand sanitizer on Alexis and Nicholas's little hands and not allowing them to be in each others faces. That way they cannot pass any germs between the two of them.

If this does not work, I GIVE UP! I have never swept and mopped and vaccumed and wiped down my house so many times a day! I have done it at least once every other hour since Monday and let me tell you, it can get exhausting fast!

BUT...on a brighter note, Nicholas has transitioned back into his crib with no problems (3 nights and counting), Alexis has moved from co-sleeping since birth to her bed for 85% of the night (3 nights as well) and potty training has become a full time job. Alexis is practically begging to go to the potty now. She even woke up early this morning and called for me to come in her room, when I went in, she said "I need to go pee in the potty mommy". I was soo proud of her. It is one thing to tell me during the day, but it is a totally different thing to wake up to use the bathroom. She even goes on her own and tries to clean herself up. She still needs a lot of help in that area, but the fact that she is attempting to do it for herself just tells me even more that she is really getting the potty training down pat! I just hope that Nicholas follows her lead.

That is about all that has been happening around our house this week. I have taken a couple of pictures (above), nothing special, just hanging out at the house.

Sick Baby All Over Again

Just when it looked like Nicholas was going to get better, NOPE, he was running a fever again today. All he wanted to do was sleep and be lazy today. So we stayed in the house and had tons of snuggle time.

This has been going on since November. We went to the doctor for the first time on November 12th and have been back to the doctor several times since. We have also had a visit to the emergency room.

I have bleached and Lysoled the entire house and washed everything that has been touched in hot water with bleach in it. So my house smells like a bleach factory!

Loving Bathtime

It has been a long road, but little man is finally loving bathtime. I was beginning think that we were never going to get here. He used to cry and scream like we were killing him. Now, he plays and splashes in the water.
Since we have a rubber ducking bath tub that sits in our tub I put both the babies in at the same time and they have a blast. Nicholas in Duckie and Alexis is the big tub. They play and have a good time together.

Now I am just waiting for the screaming and crying when its time to get out of the bathtub!

Twilight - New Moon - Eclipse

I saw this movie on Christmas day and fell in love with it. It is by far the best movie I have ever seen. I was so impressed with the movie that I decided to read the book. Now, 7 days later I have not only read the book but have also read New Moon, the second book in the saga and Eclipse, the third book in the saga. I plan to start Breaking Dawn tomorrow and will hopefully finish it by Sunday.
It is no secret to those who know me that I am a HUGE Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan and this movie, in my opinion, stirs up the emotions that I felt when I watched Angel and Buffy together. If you like loves stories with a twist, by all means read these books. You will not be disappointed. But before you read them or see the movie, make sure that the man in your life is really who you want. If he is not, you will find yourself searching for your Edward!
