Happy Birthday Jesus

First of all, let me start off by saying "Happy Birthday Jesus", without you my life would be worthless!

Second of all, I would like to say "Merry Christmas" to everyone else. I hope everyone had as good of a day as we did.

My family had a wonderful day. The kids woke up to find tons of presents from Santa, they played with their new toys for a few hours, then we walked up to my sister-in-laws to take a couple of gifts to my neices and see them for Christmas, stopped by my husbands cousins house on the way back to see their children and then headed to my moms house for lunch. (Just in case you are reading this and are not familiar with where we live, my house is right next to my mothers (who bought land from my husbands family), then there is my husbands cousins house, his sisters house, his mothers house and his grandmothers house. We are also surround by aunts, uncles and more cousins for about a mile. So we are all right here together). We all spend a lot of time together, which is great because all of our children have a cousin their age to play with.

After all the family stuff, Brittany and I headed to the movies and saw "Twilight". And just let me say, this was by far the best movie I have seen since the Notebook. It was actually better! I am a big Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel person so this movie was right up my alley. My daughter loved it as well. I am going to buy the book series tomorrow for us to read. And I will be at the store waiting on the release day so I can get a copy of it!

To wrap it up, we had a great day. Nothing fancy, just spending time with the famliy and enjoying the children. After all, that is where the joy of Christmas comes into place!

I will post pictures tomorrow. Heading to bed now. Once again, Merry Christmas and Goodnight!

Gospel Singer on the Rise

I am the head of a praise dance group at church and we have practice once a week. This week we practiced a little more because of the Christma dance we were doing. Anyways, Alexis likes to go with me because she loves to be at church and loves to sing at church. Her favorite song that we sing is "Shake the Devil Off". She grabs the microphone, starts singing and then dancing. It is the cutest thing ever. My neice went with me this weekend and got some pictures of it.

Christmas with the In-Laws

We had Christmas with my in-laws tonight and things went as good as they always do! Not much more to say. Here are a couple of pictures:

More Christmas Pictures

Christmas Pictures

We went and had Christmas pictures taken today with my girlfriend Sarah and her two boys. We have gone together the past 2 years because if you buy one of the bigger packages you get the CD with all the pictures. So we split a package, that way it saves each of us some money.

Anyway, we had the worst photographer I have ever had. She was sick with a cold and was very short and snappy with the children. She mis-printed one of Sarah's from her package and got huffy with me about not ordering more pictures.
We got some really good pictures though! Nicholas was all smiles and Alexis kept jumping in to get her picture taken. Brittany took one of the best pictures ever!

These are just a few of the pictures. I will do a slide show with more!

Girls, Girls, Girls

Sometimes I really feel sorry for my husband, between me, Brittany, Alexis and the hords of girls that are always in and out of the house (Brittany's friends and girls from the church), he is severely out numbered!

And just think about it, Nicholas has all this to look forward to! It is only a step away from him having to fight off all the girls.

Anyway, we have been doing a ton of shopping this weekend trying to get the stuff for Brittany's bedroom (we have been working on closing in our garage for her a new bedroom). We have bought 2x4's, sheet rock, tape, mud, a window, paint, brushes, nails, etc. FUN FUN FUN!

My husband has busted his butt working in the room and now we are down to just sanding, painting and having the carpet installed! By the end of next week I am hoping to have Brittany in her new room and by Christmas the babies in their new room!

Toddler Crafting with Macaroni

I try to do some kind of craft with Alexis every week and pretty much, I try to use things we have around the house. I had completely forgotten about the macaroni jewelry that I had made when I was in Early Childhood Development classes until we cleaned out some boxes in our storage building last week and I found mine. So, I thought it would be fun to do with Alexis. She had a blast!

You are not limited to macaroni necklaces, you can also make bracelets and anklets.

  • Put macaroni in a jar, drop in a few drops of food coloring and shake gently until you get the color you like (we did several different colors).
  • Spread on newspaper or papertowels to dry.
  • Put each color into an old butter tub or other plastic container with a lid.
  • Use a shoestring or yarn with end taped and let your toddlers imagination go!

This is also a good way to teach sorting by colors (I am working with Alexis now of her colors).

Bright Lights, Not So Big City

Need Some Advice

OK, I had to take my Yaya (greek for Grandmother) to the hospital on Friday and I found out that the original reason for taking her to the ER was just for attention, this did not really make me happy considering the fact that it was 7 at night, it was cold and I was tired. Not to mention the fact that I have to young children that I would much rather have been at home with! Anyway, we get there for her little prank and they notice her feet (which I took her to the doctor for on Wednesday and she had yet to follow the doctors advice and they had gotten worse). So they decide to keep her. HA HA HA! She was pissed off and did not want to stay but had no choice. Maybe next time she will think twice about crying wolf. Don't get me wrong, I love my grandmother, but I am having a hard time understanding her as she is not the same woman I grew up with! She has turned into my 2 year old and it is driving me nuts.

So I got up on Saturday morning, after not leaving the hospital until after 1 am. My mother and I decided to strip her bed and dust her room. In the process I find some of her medicine that she was suppose to have taken and when I found her pain pills I was shocked, she had taken 34 when she was only suppose to take 16. Now I have taken all her medicine and sorted thru it, organized a weeks worth of pills in 3 pill packs for her different medicine times each day and I know that the shit is going to hit the fan when she comes home from the hospital! I knew that this day was coming quickly, but I am still not prepared for it. Please tell me the best way to handle this subject because to be honest, I ma to the point where my nerves cannot take much more! Between a 7 month old, a 2 year old, a 15 year old, a 18 year old an 81 year old and my husband I DO NOT KNOW WHICH WAS IS UP AND WHICH WAY IS DOWN! I do good to tell people my name some days.

Saturday Night Fever

Well we have ran errand on top of errand today and are finally home for the night. We left out at 8:15 this morning to pick up a present for Nicholas for his birthday. The we made 2 trips to the Church to turn the heat on and for practice, Subway for lunch, post office for mail and out to see the Christmas lights.

Alexis loved the Christmas lights! She got all excited when we first came up to the houses and kept saying "look mommy, look".

Flashback Friday

Ok, I am so stealing this idea from Sarah, but I could not pass up the opportunity to put this picture of my Aunt Debbie, Moma & Granny on my website.

I asked my Aunt for a picture of the three of them for an idea I had for Christmas, but I did not expect something this old. This picture was taken at my Aunt & Uncle's wedding almost 29 years ago. Wasn't my Aunt a hottie!

Skate Night

Skate Night

Monday nights is "Christain Music Night" at the skating rink in Salisbury and our church decided to go and enjoy the fun. We ended up being 95% of the people at the skating rink which was just fine with us! We had a blast!

Brittany, Ashley, Beverly, Jeremy, Alexis, Nicholas and myself all went from my house straight to the skating rink, but the rest of the church met at McDonald's and ate dinner first. We had company so we skipped Mickie "D's" and went straight to skating.

I wish I would have had better light in the skating rink because I could have gotten some great videos of Ashley on her skates. I do not think she has ever skated! At least it did not look like she had.
